Our 100% certified organic Samidori matcha is meticulously grown by our trusted partner, a 6th-generation award-winning tea farmer, near the Uji River in Gokasho, Uji, Kyoto. 

It is made from organically grown, first-flush tea leaves of the Samidori cultivar. The tea leaves are shaded for over 40 days before harvest and carefully handpicked once a year in the Spring. Traditionally stone ground to perfection, this matcha is fresh, well-balanced, and offers an outstanding gentle umami. We recommend this grade of matcha for traditional usucha and koicha preparation.

Traditional Matcha 

1. Sift 2 grams (1 tsp.) of matcha into a cup or tea bowl then add 2 ounces of hot (175°F) water. 
2. Whisk matcha with a bamboo whisk in a rapid zigzag motion until a creamy frothy layer forms.

3. Add additional water to taste and enjoy or pour over ice for an iced matcha!
